Marcus Ericsson makes bold prediction: “Ferrari 2022 world champions!”

The brand-new generation of Formula 1 challengers finally emerged on track on Wednesday, as the first pre-season testing session ahead of the 2022 championship began at the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona – and it was Scuderia Ferrari Moneagsque driver Charles Leclerc who set the fastest time on the opening morning in Spain.

The Ferrari driver established the early benchmark and later improved, with conditions warming up after a chilly start to the first day of testing in Barcelona. Charles Leclerc took the fastest lap of 1m 20.165s on the morning of Day 1 as the Monegasque driver completed almost 80 laps and ended up three-tenths ahead of Lando Norris – the McLaren driver having improved for second place in the final stages of the morning session.

In the meantime, former Formula 1 driver Marcus Ericsson seems to be impressed with the Maranello team’s F1-75 car and has made a bold prediction following the opening session, pointing to Scuderia Ferrari as the future champions, with a message posted on Twitter after the morning testing session at the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona:
